I’m Sharon Ritchie-Simmons, your elected Shropshire County Councillor.

In my first 12 months I have logged 45 separate casework items across Highley, Billingsley, Glazeley & Deuxhill, and Middleton Scriven.

By the end of May 2026, 29 cases had been closed and 16 remained open or under active monitoring.

The average time to close a case is currently around 37 working days. This includes two long-running 125 bus timetable issues, both of which took around six months to resolve. Excluding those, the average closure time is around 29 working days across 27 closed cases.

 

Casework can range from practical issues such as potholes, fly-tipping, missing signs and parking concerns, through to more complex matters involving highways, planning enforcement, public rights of way, utilities, transport operators and land ownership.

 

I share updates, councillor reports, and local information, and to keep residents informed about what’s happening and what I’m working on.

My approach is simple: log the issue, find out who is responsible, chase it properly, keep it moving, and explain clearly what can and cannot be done.
